Congratulations to Robert Youens for setting the New Record in the 'Great Loop'!

Robert Youens, the Record Setter!

We would like to congratulate Robert Youens for setting a new record in completing the “Great Loop” in the single engine vessel category.

Yesterday, around 10:00 PM Central Time, Robert completed the loop in about 19 days and 14 hours, beating the old record by about 5 hours.

What makes this story more interesting is that Robert is 71 years old and he completed his journey in a 16’ aluminum Jon boat.

His Journey

Robert shared his adventure with Garmin GPS tracking so the public could watch his travels in real-time. This real-time tracking allowed folks from all parts to greet Robert as he passed through their areas and provide support as needed.

He even mentioned that the coffee hand-offs were greatly appreciated.
