Start the day by planning the day. Before beginning the day, check today's calendar. Determine what needs to be done.
Use the calendar to keep track of appointments. Always check the calendar the day before and first thing in the morning. Think about the plans for the following day and organize To Do lists the day before.
Make a list of tasks to be completed - in order - with the highest priorities at the top of the list.
Track the time spent on tasks. By tracking their time, people feel accomplished at the end of the day when they look at all of the Tasks they did complete. Additionally, they know how their time is spent and can decide how to delegate, automate, or find other ways not to waste time in the future.
Add the task to the list as they think of tasks they need to do. That way, they don't forget the task. At the same time, they don't automatically start working on a job before they finish the task they were already working on.
Multi-tasking is not a realistic expectation. Humans can only complete ONE task at a time. So, the best we can do is prioritize our workload and be intentional to ensure we finish each job on time.
